Day 69 – It’s Astounding…

Every time we have to leave the shore house I feel dead inside.

My daughter is not happy to be back in Brooklyn. It took a lot of convincing to have her go out into the yard today. She just kept saying she wanted to stay inside.

We read some books and played some board games. Tried to get her to eat. That was an ordeal. She finally did eat breakfast at 1pm after having woken up at 10am. What a four going on fourteen move.

So we spent a few minutes out in the yard, under protest, until she hit the sand table. And then she was a sandy mess.

I decided to use my yard time (sounds like prison, doesn’t it?) to exercise. I did some squats. Walked back and fourth across the (small) yard. Then I pathetically jogged back and fourth, inspiring the kiddo to follow in suit. It was nice to move around a bit. We noticed we don’t do much moving around in Brooklyn. There are far too many people outside for us to go for a walk so we are limited to the confines of our yard. Though, we are very blessed to have the yard. Play some music and make the best of what you have.

So it wasn’t an eventful day. Same dirty politics going on outside of our little bubble. Same feeling of anxiety about the “unknown.” We have to make the best of each day.
