Day 56 – Friday’s are still Friday’s!

Boredom… so much boredom. Instead of my usual White Claw in the evening, I’m having a glass of wine (and whine) ?

I miss being able to take a walk to Bedford Ave and browse the shops. I miss going out to restaurants to eat. I miss getting Tayaki with my kid. She’s feeling it too. She’s only 4, but she spent the last 3 2/4 of her life socializing with kids at her daycare. I’m at a loss for how to keep her mind working when mine it falling apart.

Today we had an Accountants Committee meeting over zoom. We discussed the boredom. We talked about how much we miss being able to go out to a bar or meet up with friends in person. Interpersonal connection is critical for maintaining out psychological well-being.

After our 2 hour meeting, I took over entertaining our kiddo. She was so bored with TV and her iPad. So I put on her favorite playlist via the TV screen which enabled her to browse and change the music. She ended up finding music from Super Mario 3D World. Her favorite video game. We danced around and then played with her toys for a while. She has her favorite kitty toys. We make voices for them. They even have a song they sing, which she authored. She’s so smart and imaginative. I cannot thank the gods and goddesses enough for blessing me with such an amazing child.

My husband and I watched an episode of Harley Quinn on DC Universe. It’s a great show. Hilarious. Highly recommended. Not for kids. We followed that by some shorts DC made. All animated. Those are definitely more kid friendly.

It’s raining. Tonight, a rare storm is making its way toward the north east. Some parts will get snow – in May! Murder virus, murder hornets, now rare and record breaking snow. Mother Earth is PISSED!

It’s kind of hard to not feel like it’s the end of the world.
